Can’t we all just get along?  Sometimes, no.  As professional planners, it is our goal to ensure that adjacent land uses are compatible.  Unfortunately that might not be the position your neighbor or your neighbors definition of “compatible” is foreign to you.  We have a substantial amount of experience opposing development on behalf of neighboring properties, either as a single homeowner or an organized homeowner organization.  We have successfully opposed high rise developments, townhouse developments, houses of worship, expansion of commercial operations, as well as the sitting of cell towers where the development would have a substantial detrimental effect on the surrounding community.
