Experience
: Jason L. Kasler worked with Kasler Associates, P.A., and its predecessors in
title, since 1989. The firm of Kasler Associates, P.A. is believed to be the
first New Jersey planning firm to utilize Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
in its planning activity. Jason is highly trained in AutoCad, ArcCad, ArcGIS
9.1, ArcView 3.3, as well as ArcView’s 3-D Analyst.
Jason is the Director of
the firm’s GIS operations and is responsible for the inclusion of GIS programs
in the master plans of Montvale, Englewood Cliffs, Hackensack, Ridgefield Park,
Maywood, Bergenfield, Bogota, Bloomingdale, Hawthorne, Morristown and Verona.
These community master plan programs are some of the first in New Jersey to
utilize this cutting edge technology. This technology also played an
instrumental part in a study prepared for Orangetown, New York concerning the
reuse of the Rockland County Psychiatric Center.
Jason has
provided site plan and subdivision review for planning boards and boards of
adjustment. Through the use of the firm’s GIS system, Jason Kasler incorporates
color aerial imagery, wetland maps, as well as other environmental information.
These reports provide valuable information and insight aiding the Board
members in their decision making process.
Jason has provided expert testimony before
numerous Planning Boards and Zoning Boards of Adjustment. Some of his cases
included the expansion of a non-conforming use, a use variance for a hotel, a
use variance for a home occupation, preservation of an historic site, and
opposition to a cellular tower in a residential zone. Jason Kasler has also
represented several condominium associations and houses of worship in land use
matters. Jason Kasler has testified in eight counties including Bergen, Essex,
Hudson, Middlesex, Somerset, Morris, Passaic, and Union Counties. Jason
Kasler has also testified in Court on behalf of the Borough of Fort Lee as well
as private clients located in Saddle Brook, Sayerville and Montville. All cases
were adjudicated in favor of the firm’s clients.
