Kasler Associates, P.A. has traditionally provided environmental planning
services as a part of its planning programs.
Throughout the years the firm has provided some of the most innovative and
creative work in recognition of the environmental sensitivity of land. For
example:

Town of Tuxedo,
New York, 1972
One of the
earliest examples of a town-wide program to protect and maintain the ecological
environment of the community.
2.
Borough of Fort Lee,
1973 and 1978
Recognition of
aesthetic, environmental and ecological considerations. First master plan in New
Jersey to utilize sector analysis and time phasing.
3.
Mendham Borough,
1988
Working in
conjunction with the Borough's Environmental Commission, the master plan
reaffirms the efforts of the Commission by formally adopting its open space
program.
4.
Township of Mahwah,
1989
One of the most
comprehensive environmentally conscious plans prepared in New Jersey, including
preservation of trout production streams, ridgeline preservation, establishment
of stream corridors, protection of steep sloping lands and wetlands, historic
preservation of more than 70 sites and provision of recreation and open space
lands totalling more than 5,000 acres.

Borough of Ringwood,
1990
One of the first
master plans directed toward the protection of watershed lands in New Jersey
including the preservation of hiking trails and scenic resources.
6.
Borough of Saddle River,
1991
Saddle River, a
relatively small community with a total population of 2,950 people, adopted its
master plan which incorporated a designated historic district which was placed
on the Federal and State Registries of Historic Places.
7.
City of Hackensack,
1991, 2002
Established a
riverfront parkway system and identified Borg’s Woods as an open space area
consistent with NJDEP’s designation of the site being placed on the Register of
Natural Areas.
8.
Town of Orangetown, NY,
1998
A planning program reviewing the
Rockland County Psychiatric Center, a facility consisting of 550 acres. Plans
provided for the protection of a major water supply reservior, provision for
hiking trails and open space preservation and expansion of an existing golf
course.
9.
Township of Teaneck,
2002
A comprehensive
Environmental Resource Inventory detailing municipal data from geology, soils,
slopes, wetlands, flood prone areas and streams. This data was analyzed as it
pertained to municipally owned and vacant land. Further municipal planning
studies can utilize this valuable resource.
10.
Borough of Bloomingdale,
2003-2004
The Borough contracted with Kasler
Associates, PA to provide a comprehensive Environmental Resource Inventory (ERI)
detailing municipal data including climate, air quality, geology, soils, slopes,
wetlands, wildlife, flood prone areas, streams and aquifer recharge areas.
Further municipal planning studies can utilize this valuable resource. |
